GATE Exam: The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is a highly esteemed national examination that evaluates applicants’ thorough comprehension of a range of undergraduate Engineering, Technology, Science, Architecture, and Humanities disciplines.
Bengaluru’s Indian Institute of Science (IISc) is in charge of organising GATE 2024.
GATE 2024 is being organised by IISc Bengaluru. On behalf of the National Coordination Board (NCB), Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India, GATE 2024 is being organised by IISc Bengaluru and seven IITs, which are IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Kanpur, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Madras, and IIT Roorkee.
In institutions supported by the Ministry of Education (MoE) and other government agencies, candidates who qualify for the GATE may apply for admission to Master’s programmes and direct Doctoral programmes in Engineering, Technology, Architecture, Science, and Humanities; as well as Doctoral programmes in relevant branches of Science and Humanities. Financial assistance may be available for those who qualify for these programmes. Certain colleges and institutions employ the GATE score in addition to MoE scholarships to admit students to postgraduate programmes. The GATE score has also been used by a number of Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) in their hiring processes.
There will be thirty test papers in total for GATE 2024, which will include both complete and sectional papers. Candidates may choose to take one or both of the permitted two-paper combinations of tests. The candidates’ GATE scores will be valid for three years following the date of the results announcement.
