The Uttar Pradesh University of Medical Sciences (UPUMS) has released a job announcement on the opening for a nursing officer. Candidates can read the notification and apply online if they are interested in the job specifics and meet the eligibility requirements.

After reorganising the 2005-founded Uttar Pradesh Rural Institute of Medical Sciences and Research, Saifai, the Uttar Pradesh government established the 2016-founded Uttar Pradesh University of Medical Sciences, Saifai as an affiliated, teaching, and research university. The University was created as a State University by Act number. 15 of 2016 of the Uttar Pradesh state assembly, as announced by notification number. 742(2)/LXXIX-V-1-16-1(ka)-7-2015, dated May 17, 2016. The University (Uttar Pradesh University of Medical Sciences) will be made up of five faculties: medical, dental, paramedical sciences, nursing, and pharmacy, according to the Uttar Pradesh Extraordinary Gazette of May 17, 2016. The University provides undergraduate degrees in Medicine, Paramedical Sciences, Nursing, and Pharmacy in addition to MD/MS/MDS and M.Ch programmes in a variety of medical specialisations and super specialization courses. The Universities’ faculties of dentistry, pharmacy, nursing, and paramedical also provide postgraduate courses. Additionally, the University offers diploma programmes in paramedical and nursing, both of which are connected to the State Medical Faculty in Lucknow. There are currently 250 faculty members at the university working in different academic disciplines. With cutting edge infrastructure, the academic departments carry out patient treatment, teaching, training, and research.

The university operates a fully operational 1050-bed tertiary care hospital with 150 beds designated for trauma and burn patients. Non-academic support wings of various services, such as paramedical, hospital, engineering, ministerial secretarial, etc., provide their best contributions to ensure the management of the patient care services, which is necessary for optimal healthcare. The university not only offers instruction but also supports scientific and medical research through a number of programmes, both extracurricular and intramural. The University is well connected by road and rail; it is roughly 7 km from the Agra-Lucknow motorway, 20 km from NH-2 and 20 km from Etawah Junction, the closest train station.

Educational Qualifications for UPUMS Nursing Officer Recruitment 2024

• Nursing Officer – B.Sc. (Hons.) Nursing / B.Sc. Nursing / B.Sc. (Post- Certificate) / Post­ Basic B.Sc. Nursing from an Institute or University recognized by Indian Nursing Council / State Nursing Council OR Diploma in General Nursing Midwifery from an Institute / College recognized by Indian Nursing Council/ State Nursing Council with Two Years’ Experience in a minimum 50 bedded Hospital (registered with competent district medical authority).
