The Hon’ble Prime Minister of India announced the National Rural Health Mission in April 2005 to address health needs in rural areas across the country, with a particular emphasis on 18 states with poor public health indices. The NRHM was enhanced as the National Health Mission in 2012 (12th Five Year Plan), with expanded health coverage to urban areas and the inclusion of the Non Communicable Diseases Programme. In the year 2013, the Government of India launched the National Urban Health Mission as a Sub Mission of the National Health Mission.
The Hon’ble Prime Minister established the National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) on April 12, 2005, with the goal of providing accessible, inexpensive, and high-quality health care to rural populations, particularly disadvantaged groups. The Union Cabinet authorised the establishment of the National Urban Health Mission (NUHM) as a sub-mission of the overarching National Health Mission (NHM) on May 1, 2013, with the National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) serving as the other sub-mission of the NHM.
NRHM is to deliver fair, inexpensive, and high-quality health care to the rural population, particularly vulnerable populations. The Empowered Action Group (EAG) States, as well as the North Eastern States of Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh, have received special attention under the NRHM. The mission’s focus is on establishing a fully functional, community-owned, decentralised health delivery system with inter-sectoral convergence at all levels to ensure concurrent action on a wide range of health determinants such as water, sanitation, education, nutrition, social and gender equality. Institutional integration within the fragmented health sector was supposed to offer a focus on results, as assessed against Indian Public Health Standards for all healthcare institutions.

Candidates should note that there will be a penalty (Negative Marking) for wrong answers marked by a candidate in the Objective Type Question Papers.
Mobile Phones / Smart Watches / Electronic Devices are BANNED for NHM Punjab MO Recruitment 2024

The use of any mobile phone (even in switched off mode), pager or any electronic equipment or programmable device or storage media like pen drive, smart watches, etc. or camera or blue tooth devices or any other equipment or related accessories either in working or switched off mode capable of being used as a communication device during the examination is strictly prohibited. Any infringement of these instructions shall entail disciplinary action including ban from future examinations.

Candidates are advised in their interest not to bring any of the banned items including mobile phones or any valuable/costly items to the venue of the examination, as no arrangement for safe-keeping will be made at the venue of the examination. Commission will not be responsible for any loss in this regard.
