The Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation was founded by the Maharashtra State Government under the requirements of Section 3 of the RTC Act of 1950.
MSRT Corporation operates under the authorised road transport system issued in the Official Gazette on November 29, 1973 (notice MVA 3173/30303-XIIA).
The plan covers the whole Maharashtra state. This undertaking provides contract carrying services across Maharashtra State, with the exception of ST. Section 68 A (b) of the MV Act defines activities, as do other exclusions listed in the scheme. The current Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) is the result of three streams of government funding for passenger road transport. These are from the pre-1956 states of Mumbai, Madhya Pradesh, and Hyderabad. However, in chronological order, the state of Hyderabad takes pleasure in offering public road transport services.
The first bus service between Pune and Ahmednagar began in 1948. It’s a narrative that began hesitantly, with many people believing the State Transport (ST) bus service was non-existent for more than two years. Standing at this 71-year milestone, its strength speaks for itself: 18,449 buses, 1,02,000 staff, and about 67 lakh individuals who use the service every day. Tracing the history of this growth takes us back to the 1920s, when several entrepreneurs began working in the public transit sector. Until the Motor Vehicle Act was enacted in 1939, there were no laws to supervise their operations, resulting in unrestrained competition and fares. This proved to be advantageous for travellers because the timetable, pick-up sites, and some form of timetable are established with conductors and fixed ticket rates. Thus the situation lasted until 1948, when the Bombay State Government established its own State Road Transport Service, State Transport Bombay. The first blue-silver bus departed Pune for Ahmednagar.

The use of any mobile phone (even in switched off mode), pager or any electronic equipment or programmable device or storage media like pen drive, smart watches, etc. or camera or blue tooth devices or any other equipment or related accessories either in working or switched off mode capable of being used as a communication device during the examination is strictly prohibited. Any infringement of these instructions shall entail disciplinary action including ban from future examinations.

Candidates are advised in their interest not to bring any of the banned items including mobile phones or any valuable/costly items to the venue of the examination, as no arrangement for safe-keeping will be made at the venue of the examination. Commission will not be responsible for any loss in this regard.
