Madhya Pradesh Power Generating Company Limited (MPPGCL) has issued a notification regarding employment opportunities for the recruitment of apprentice positions. The Company was established as part of the power sector reform initiative in Madhya Pradesh, which was initiated by the Government of Madhya Pradesh. Its formation marked a significant shift in the management of power generation in the state.

Specifically, the Company has assumed responsibility for the generation activities previously managed by the Madhya Pradesh State Electricity Board (MPSEB). It operates as a public company wholly owned by the Government of Madhya Pradesh.

The official incorporation of the Company occurred on November 22, 2001. Following its incorporation, the Company received its Certificate of Commencement of Business on July 16, 2002. The Company’s registered office is located at Shakti-Bhawan, Rampur, Jabalpur.

Currently, the Company has an authorized capital of Rs. 10,000 Crore (Ten Thousand Crore), which is divided into 10,000,000,000 shares with a nominal value of Rs. 100 each. The issued, subscribed, and paid-up capital stands at Rs. 5,325,54,68,800 (Five Thousand Three Hundred Twenty-Five Crores Fifty-Four Lacs Sixty-Eight Thousand Eight Hundred), which is distributed across 5,325,54,688 shares, each valued at Rs. 100.

In accordance with the Gazette Notification (Extraordinary) No. 226, issued by the Government of Madhya Pradesh, and under order no. 3679/FRS/18/13/2002 dated May 31, 2005, the reorganization of the Madhya Pradesh State Electricity Board was formalized. Paragraph 2(a) of this order specifies:

“Effective from June 1, 2005 (the effective date), the function of electricity generation, as detailed in Schedule A to the Transfer Scheme Rules, 2003, shall be carried out by Madhya Pradesh Power Generating Company Limited as its own business, and not as an agent of or on behalf of the Madhya Pradesh State Electricity Board.”

The opening balance sheet for Madhya Pradesh Power Generating Company Limited, as of May 31, 2005, was also officially notified. Consequently, the Company has been operating independently from June 1, 2005.
