The ratio of doctors to the population is considerably below the standard set by the World Health Organization (WHO), which adversely affects the quality of healthcare services. The limited number of government doctors, especially in remote and underserved areas, underscores the urgent need for effective recruitment strategies to ensure fair and comprehensive healthcare access.
In response to this urgent need, the Meghalaya Government has taken decisive action by establishing the Meghalaya Medical Services Recruitment Board (MMSRB). This was first announced through Notification No. Health.106/2014/Pt. II/11, dated November 28, 2022, aimed at streamlining the recruitment process for various positions within the Health & Family Welfare Department via direct recruitment.
Building on the success of this initial recruitment cycle, the Meghalaya Medical Services Recruitment Board (MMSRB) was formalized as a permanent entity through Notification No. Health.106/2014/Pt.II/24, dated September 25, 2023. This establishment was further supported by additional Notifications No. Health.106/2014/Pt.II/26 and No. Health.106/2014/Pt.II/26-A, both dated October 26, 2023. This transition marks a significant development in the state’s approach to addressing its human resource challenges in healthcare, reflecting a commitment to long-term and sustainable solutions.
Educational Qualifications for MMSRB SN-ANM Recruitment 2024

Staff Nurse – B.Sc. Nursing / General Nursing &Midwifery (GNM) from Recognized Institution by Indian Nursing Council. Applicant should be Registered under Meghalaya Nursing Council.

Auxiliary Nurse Midwife (ANM) – Auxiliary Nurse & Midwifery Certificate from Institution Recognized by Indian Nursing Council and Registered under Meghalaya Nursing Council.

The use of any mobile phone (even in switched off mode), pager or any electronic equipment or programmable device or storage media like pen drive, smart watches, etc. or camera or blue tooth devices or any other equipment or related accessories either in working or switched off mode capable of being used as a communication device during the examination is strictly prohibited. Any infringement of these instructions shall entail disciplinary action including ban from future examinations.
