Updated Continuous Assessment (CA) Process by for 2022-23
The MAKAUT University Exam Controller Board has introduced an updated Continuous Assessment (CA) process for the 2022-23 academic session. This initiative, implemented via the Digital Value System (DVS), aims to enhance students’ skills and improve their academic knowledge. In this post, we’ll cover the new rules and guidelines for the Continuous Assessment (CA) system, popularly known as the CA Exam.
Objective of the Continuous Assessment System
The primary goal of the University is to ensure the holistic development of its students through academic content and extracurricular activities. Emphasis is placed on essential skills such as presentation and report writing, which are critical for professional growth. The updated CA process has been designed to systematically develop these skills as part of the curriculum.
The Continuous Assessment will be conducted in a structured and professional manner, integrating various activities like class presentations, group discussions, pen-and-paper exams, and online MCQ tests.

Continuous Assessment 1 (CA1): Presentation Skills
- Focus: PowerPoint presentation skills
- Activities:
- Students prepare and deliver PowerPoint presentations based on course assignments and semester topics.
- Faculties evaluate students on their presentations, quizzes, and group discussions.
- Assessment aligns with Outcome-Based Education (OBE) and Bloom’s Taxonomy levels (BL).
- PDF versions of presentations must be uploaded to the University portal when submitting CA1 marks.
- Objective: Enhance skills in presentations, teamwork, and group activities.

Continuous Assessment 2 (CA2): Report Writing Skills
- Focus: Report writing skills
- Activities:
- Students submit reports based on course content, exercises, and assignments.
- Evaluation strategies incorporate OBE and Bloom’s Taxonomy levels (BL).
- PDF versions of reports are uploaded to the University portal during CA2 mark submission.

Continuous Assessment 3 (CA3): Class Test (Pen-and-Paper Mode)
- Focus: Traditional class test format

- CA3 follows the model of the CA4 test from previous semesters.
- After internal tests at the college level, answer scripts are uploaded to the University portal, and evaluation is conducted online.
- Marks are automatically transferred to the CA3 panel.

Continuous Assessment 4 (CA4): Centralized Online MCQ Test
