 ITI admission 2024 : Eligibility Criteria

The courses of West Bengal ITI comes under the two groups -E Group and M Group.

Candidates can check the complete eligibility criteria in the below provided section:

• Nationality: Applying candidates must be citizen of India to be eligible for admission.
• Domicile: Applicants must have domicile certificate of West Bengal state to be eligible.
• Qualification: Candidates must have passed class 8th for Group E. For group M, candidates must pass class 10th from recognised board.
• Age Limit: The minimum age of candidates must be 14 years as on 1^st August 2024. There will be no upper age limit to apply.
• Appearing: The appearing candidates in the last year of their final examination in class 8^th & 10^th will also be eligible to apply.

For Previously admitted/ passed out trainees from any Govt. ITI / ITC / JP and PPP Govt. ITI: ITI Passed-out trainees: Passed-out trainees from any Govt. ITI/ ITC/ JP or PPP Govt. ITI are not eligible for admission for three consecutive years in the same ITI and for one year in any other ITIs. (Excluding the passing out year).

Reservation of seats

Seats will be reserved as per following norms.

The following nine (9) major ITIs shall not have any district quota seats:
1. ITI, Gariahat.
2. ITI, Tollygunj.
3. ITI, Howrah Homes.
4. ITI, Kalyani.
5. ITI, Hooghly.
6. ITI, Durgapur.
7. ITI, Siliguri.
8. Women ITI, Kolkata.
9. ITI for Physically challenged Boys & Girls.

Note:- Seats reserved for ST candidates will be converted to SC category on unavailability of ST candidates and vice-versa. In case of non-availability of SC and ST candidates, seats reserved for both the categories will be converted to General category. Seats reserved for Physically Challenged candidates will be converted to General category due to non-availability of Physically Challenged candidate. Similarly seats reserved for women candidates will be converted to General category due to non-availability of women candidates.

Selection Procedure for ITI admission 2024 in West Bengal

For M Group trades:
a) On the basis of marks obtained in Madhyamik or equivalent board examination.
b) No separate entrance test will be held.
For E Group trades:
a) On the basis of the marks obtained by the candidate in the class VIII examination.

Institute / trade would be allotted through e-counselling based on the rank in the merit list and choice of the applicant. Institute / trade choice would be collected on-line, from the applicants, in due course.

For the candidates appearing Madhyamik 2024 or equivalent examination this year from any recognised Board 7 (Seven) days will be given for application after date of publication of results of Madhyamik 2024 or equivalent examination.

Application Fee:

• The application fee can be submitted through online mode only.
• No offline mode is available to submit the application fee.
• Male candidates need to submit application fee of Rs. 200/- for every category.
• For female candidates, the application fee is of Rs.100/-.
• Credit card, Debit card, Net Banking, UPI and E-Wallet are the online payment gateways for transaction.

How to Apply for  ITI admission 2024 in West Bengal

• Step-1: Go to the website of West Bengal ITI (https://scvtwb.in/).
• Step-2: Candidates will have to choose the application form to be filled up either M or E based on qualification.
• Step-3: Fill the application form with details like personal, educational qualification, email id, etc.
• Step-4: Now upload the documents such as photograph and signature in the specific format.
• Step-5: Submit the prescribed amount of application fee through online mode.
• Step-6: Recheck the filled details before submitting the form.
• Step-7: Take a hardcopy of the filled application form for further admission procedure.

Admission Fees for ITI admission 2024 in West Bengal: (both M & E Group)

Fees for admission in Govt. ITIs (for both ‘M’ & ‘E’ Group trades) for the session August’2024:-
Following fees are to be paid by the candidates at the time of admission, through online mode for deposit to the Bank Account of WBSCVT via the payment Gateway. Rest of the fees need to be paid by the student at the beginning of every 6 months.
