Hubli Electricity Supply Company Limited (HESCOM) has released an official notification regarding the recruitment of Apprentice positions under the Apprenticeship Act of 1961. In the state of Karnataka, the responsibility of managing the power sector originally fell to the Karnataka Electricity Board. However, as the state’s economy began to grow rapidly, the demand for electricity increased significantly. Recognizing the need for a more robust and modernized power sector, the state government decided to implement reforms to better meet the challenges of a burgeoning economy.
The reform process began in 1999. As the first step, the Karnataka Electricity Board was divided into two separate entities: Karnataka Power Transmission Corporation Limited (KPTCL) and Vishweswaraiah Vidyut Nigama Limited (VVNL). This restructuring was aimed at improving the efficiency and effectiveness of power transmission and generation within the state.
Additionally, in 1999, the Karnataka Electricity Regulatory Commission (KERC) was established to oversee and regulate the activities within the power sector, ensuring that the reforms led to positive outcomes for consumers and the economy at large.
As part of the next phase of reforms, further changes were made to enhance the transmission and distribution of electricity. In June 2002, the operations of KPTCL related to transmission and distribution were unbundled, resulting in the creation of four separate power distribution companies. One of these companies is the Hubli Electricity Supply Company Limited (HESCOM), which was established to manage the distribution of electricity in its designated area, with its headquarters located in Hubballi.
Through these reforms, Karnataka aimed to build a more efficient, reliable, and customer-focused power sector that could support the state’s economic growth and meet the increasing demand for electricity in the years to come.
Educational Qualifications for HESCOM Apprentice Recruitment 2024

Graduates: Should have passed with a B.E. / B.Tech degree from a recognized University / Institution (recognised by AICTE or State Govt. / Central Govt.) in electrical/Electronics engineering.

Diploma holders: Should have 3 years Diploma from a polytechnic college / institution recognized by the State Govt. / Central Govt. in electrical/Electronics engineering.

Candidate must register to get Registration Number on NATS portal; https://nats.education.gov.in

Candidates shall first register on https://nats.education.gov.in (NATS.2.O) portal with their Diploma / Engg. Graduate / Non-Tech. Graduate education and obtain “Student ID / Enrolment ID”.

Candidates who have Completed Engg. Graduation after diploma must register / upgrade their profile as an Engineering Graduate (i.e Higher Qualification) on Portal.

After getting “Student ID / Enrolment ID”, open the Google form by using link or QR code given below. Fill all the information accurately as per available documented proof. Giving wrong information will lead to rejection of form during scrutiny. This Google form can be filled once only & cannot be corrected further.

After submitting the form following message will be displayed “Thank You! Your Form Submitted Successfully!. This ensures submission process completed & your form is submitted successfully.
Penalty – Wrong Answers for HESCOM Apprentice Recruitment 2024
Candidates should note that there will be a penalty (Negative Marking) for wrong answers marked by a candidate in the Objective Type Question Papers.
Mobile Phones / Smart Watches / Electronic Devices are BANNED for HESCOM Apprentice Recruitment 2024

The use of any mobile phone (even in switched off mode), pager or any electronic equipment or programmable device or storage media like pen drive, smart watches, etc. or camera or blue tooth devices or any other equipment or related accessories either in working or switched off mode capable of being used as a communication device during the examination is strictly prohibited. Any infringement of these instructions shall entail disciplinary action including ban from future examinations.

Candidates are advised in their interest not to bring any of the banned items including mobile phones or any valuable/costly items to the venue of the examination, as no arrangement for safe-keeping will be made at the venue of the examination. Commission will not be responsible for any loss in this regard.
