The West Bengal Department of Health and Family Welfare has issued an employment notification for the recruitment of Community Health Assistants, Medical Officers, Medical Officer In-Charge, Nursing In-Charge, and other positions on a contract basis. Educational Qualifications for DHFW WB MO-CHO Recruitment 2024

• Medical Officer In-Charge – Candidate must have BBS degree obtained from NMC recognised institute / MBBS or equivalent degree from foreign institute and FMGE qualified, held under the Supervision of the National Board of examination (NBE) with1year compulsory internship. Post Graduate degree / diploma in Public Health / Community Medicine / Hospital Administration, recognised by NMC

• Nursing In-Charge – MSc. in Nursing (Obstetrics& Gynaecology / Paediatrics / Community Health Nursing).

• Medical Officer – MBBS from a MC recognized institute. Must be registered under WBMC. Specialist; Post-Graduate degree / DNB / Diploma in General Surgery, Physician (General Medicine / internal Medicine), Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Paediatrics, Anaesthesia.

• Community Health Assistant – Must have passed ANM course from an institute recognized by the Indian Nursing Council and be registered with the West Bengal Nursing Council OR Must have passed GNM course from n institute, recognized by India Nursing Council and be registered with the West Bengal Nursing Council. Should be proficient in Bengali. Permanent resident of North 24 Parganas district.

• Accountant – Graduate with commerce background from any recognized University. Having diploma/certificate course in computer application from any
  recognized institution. Knowledge of computers in MS-Word, MS-Excel, MS-Power point, Internet and Tally Software. Applicants for a particular District must be a permanent resident of the district.

• Ophthalmic Assistant – Passed Higher Secondary with Physics, Chemistry and Biology. Must have a 2(two) year Diploma in Paramedical Ophthalmic Assistants Course OR a 2 (two) year Diploma Course in Optometry & Ophthalmic technique recognized by the Government of West Bengal.

• Laboratory Technician – Higher Secondary passed (10+ 2) from a recognized board or institute with Physics, Chemistry and Biology or Mathematics and Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology from any institution, recognised by the Govt, of WB, State Medical Faculty / ACTE. Knowledge in computer MS Office and internet is required.

• Peer Support – The Peer Support should be a person preferably with or recovered from the disease (hepatitis B or hepatitis C), with a minimum of H.S (12th level education). She/He must also have sound knowledge of the local language and working knowledge of English. Excellent skills in oral and written expression and complete proficiency in computer operations for applicants is absolutely essentials for all areas.

• Nutritionist – B.SC or M. SC in food and Nutrition or Equivalent Course with computer knowledge. Candidate should read, write and speak in Bengali.

• Cook & Caretaker – Candidates must have passed Higher Secondary Examination from West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education/other equivalent Board. The candidate should have good command on local language of the district (Bengal). Must know all types of Cooling (Credential will be signed by local dignitary, ie. School Teacher / Panchayat Pradhan / PRI Member with stamp)
