In Meghalaya, the Home Guards and Civil Defence organisations are combined into a single Directorate known as the Home Guards and Civil Defence Department, which is led by the Commandant General of Home Guards and Director of Civil Defence, Government of Meghalaya, Shillong.

Civil Defence and Home Guard Meghalaya has issued a notification for the recruitment of Sub-Inspectors, Guardsmen, Drivers, and Non-Combatant Employees. Candidates who are interested in the vacancy information and have met all qualifying requirements can read the notification and apply.
